Week 5 Free Post: Introduction of Elements of Mechanical Engineering

For this week’s free post, I would like to share a video about elements of mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineer is not only relates to machines, but only it contains heat and material science. Somehow, many students around me always complain about why we need to take physics and chemistry if we are major in mechanical engineer, what a waste of time and energy. I think after watching this video, people who have that thoughts will change their mind. This video is like a PowerPoint slide show during the first part, it gives some common senses like what is mechanical engineer and what can mechanical engineer do for society. The second part of the video is to a carton show. There is a analysis of a trains, it burns carbon to get kinetic energy and the white gas which is carbon dioxide and sulfate dioxide put into outside air through a pipe. It shows that mechanical engineering is also relates to heat and chemistry stuff.

  1. From this blog, i know lots of information above the Elements of Mechanical Engineering. I feel this major is hard major in the world. So we should study hard above this major.
